The short version

Birth details you enter are used to calculate the chart you request, and for nothing else. Guest birth details are not saved. There is no advertising, no behavioural analytics and no tracking cookie. Nothing you enter is sold or shared for anyone else's purposes, and no birth detail is ever put in a web address.

Astro Gazer does process what you type: a calculation is processing, and this page does not pretend otherwise. What it does not do is keep it.

Birth details

The guest Birth Chart is the only feature that accepts birth details. They are typed into the form, sent electronically in the body of one same-origin request, and processed automatically to compute the chart.

Please submit only your own birth details. The guest flow has no way to record another person's permission.

Who is responsible

Astro Gazer is operated by an individual: Efe UYSAL, who is the data controller for the processing described on this page. Astro Gazer is not a company, and no company is behind it.

Requests about your data go to contact@astrogazer.io. The address works and mail sent to it reaches a person. It is the same address for privacy, security and accessibility: one channel rather than four, so nothing is lost deciding which one to use.

What is kept in your browser

Astro Gazer sets no cookies at all: none for tracking, none for advertising, and none for anything else. Three small preference values are written to your browser's local storage, all first-party, all set only when you choose the setting they record, and none containing anything about who you are:

• am-motion-choice: remembers that you asked for reduced motion. Written only when you choose it; removed when you turn it off; kept until then.
• am-journey-skipped: remembers that you skipped the scrolling introduction, so it is not shown again. Same rules.
• am-theme-choice: remembers that you chose the light theme. Written only when you choose it; removed when you return to the dark default; kept until then.

No analytics, advertising or tracking

There is no analytics product, no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no error-reporting service and no third-party script anywhere on this site. Fonts are the ones already on your device; no font, image, script or stylesheet is fetched from another host.

This is enforced technically as well as intended: the site's Content Security Policy allows scripts, styles, images, fonts and network connections from this origin only, so a third-party request would be blocked by the browser rather than merely disapproved of.

Because nothing here is non-essential, there is no cookie consent banner. If that ever changes, the banner arrives with it.

Technical and security records

The application writes structured log lines with a fixed, closed set of fields: time, service, event kind, the route template that answered, HTTP status, how long it took, a random per-request identifier, an error code and the release. There is no field for a request body, a full address, a query string, a header, a cookie or an IP address, so birth details cannot appear there.

Your IP address is read from the connection to keep one visitor from exhausting the calculation service. It is held in memory, expires with the rate-limit window, and is never written to a log, returned in a response or stored.

Separately, the hosting platform runs its own infrastructure logging that this project does not control, of the kind any web host keeps: connection records, addresses, timestamps. Those are operational and security records. They are not birth details, and this page does not claim they do not exist.

Who processes the data, and where

Two processes are involved and both belong to this project: the website, and the calculation service it posts to, which is reachable only from the website and has no public address.

Both currently run on hosting in Frankfurt, Germany. Where the servers sit is an infrastructure choice rather than a feature of the product: the site is the same site, with the same content, for everyone, wherever it happens to be hosted, and the location may change without the product changing.

Place search does not involve anyone else either: it reads a GeoNames-derived index built into the site's own image, so a place name you type is not sent to an outside service.

How long anything is kept

Birth details: not kept. They exist in the page, in one request and in the calculating process, and then they are gone. There is no database, no file, no backup, no saved chart and no export, because there is nothing to export.

Browser preferences: until you change them or clear your browser.

Application logs: the closed field set described above, retained by the hosting platform under its own operational retention.

Regional rights: Türkiye (KVKK)

Astro Gazer is a global site with one version for everyone, and this section does not change that. The operator is based in Türkiye, so Turkish data-protection law applies to the processing described above, and these are the facts stated under it. They describe the same handling every visitor gets.

The legal basis for calculating a chart from the details you submit is KVKK Article 5/2(c), processing directly related to and necessary for the service you asked for. You are not asked to consent to the calculation, because consent is not the basis it rests on.

Because the servers are currently in Germany, the processing takes place outside Türkiye, which is an international transfer under Turkish law. The safeguard KVKK Article 9 requires for it is being completed, and the site does not open to the public before it is.

KVKK Article 11 gives you the right to learn whether your data is processed and to ask for information about it; to learn the purpose and whether it is used in line with that purpose; to know the third parties it is transferred to, in Türkiye or abroad; to have incomplete or inaccurate data corrected, or erased or destroyed where the conditions for that apply, with those changes passed on; to object to a conclusion reached about you solely by automated analysis; and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. This is a summary, not a substitute for the text of the law.

Changes to this page

This page describes the site as it is built today. It is updated in the same change as whatever it describes, so a feature and its privacy description cannot drift apart quietly.
